Today, on our 2019 Mazda CX-5, we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro Four Bike Rack.One of the big questions you get asked all the time in regards to these hitch mounted bike racks, is if you're still going to be able to have full access to the back of your SUV. This one does fold down out of the way and allows us to do that. We'll have a pin and clip down here, pop that clip off, pull the pin out. This folds way down. And it really gives us a ton of space to get anything we might need in and out of the back of our Mazda. more

So, the rack that we have here today can hold up to a total of two bikes, however, there's also a one bike version available, as well. The rack that we have here today can carry up to a total of four bikes. However, if you do need to carry an extra one, there's also a five bike version available as well. So our bike is going to be held down at three spots. We're going to have two straps here along the top tube and a strap down here. Now this is going to be an anti-sway strap. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Mazda CX-5- Video

Now having a hitch mounted bike rack is going to make it really nice to be able to take up to four bikes to and from the trail. It's going to prevent us from having to cram our bikes inside the back of our Mazda, or find another ride to go to the trail. Also, it's going to prevent us from having to put a roof rack on our car and have to lift our bikes all the way up. It's just going to be a lot easier and safer way to transport your bikes. more

It's going to allow us to carry some bikes with us and with our apex, we're going to be able to carry up to four bikes to and from the trail. It's going to prevent us from having to worry about getting a roof rack, reach all the way to the top mount our bikes up there, or even just cram our bikes in the back. It's going to be a lot more secure and safe way to get to and from the trail with some friends or family.And since it's a hanging style bike rack, we are going to have three points of contact. more

Today on our 2012 Mazda 5 we're gonna be test fitting Yakima RidgeBack two-bike hanging-style rack for 1 1/4 inch and 2 inch hitches. This part number is Y02457.It's a great accessory for your vehicle, it's gonna allow you to haul up to two bikes, wherever you might be going on your trip or to the trails. You can see we have a bike installed, let's take a close look and show off some of the features.Now at the ends of the arms we are gonna have bottle openers on the ends. Yakima likes to put that on all their products. Right here we're gonna have this nice rubber TPE padding, and as you see these little notches that are coming up from the rubber, those are gonna act as shock absorbers for the frame of our bike. It's gonna just help protect it from any type of scratches or abrasions.We have three different points that, where the bike rack is securing our bike with just three Zipstrips, we have two on the top of our frame right here, forcing it down onto the cradle. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Mazda 5- Video
Today, our next present on our 2012 Mazda 5, we're going to be test fitting the Hollywood Rack's Tread Aligner 2 Bike Platform Rack, which is part number HR200Z. This is a great accessory to mount to your hitch so you can be able to carry up to two bikes wherever you want to go with them. We have a bike installed. Let's take a closer look and show you all of the features.Now, it's going to hold our bikes at three different points. We have a hook and loop set on the back wheel right here, which is the first one. And then, we have the same thing at the front which is the second one, the hook and loop straps to secure the wheel and to just hold it down into the wheel cradle.Now on top, we're going to have this padded frame hook. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Mazda CX-9 INH540- Video
Today on our 2018 Mazda CZ9, we're gonna be test fitting the Inno vertical hang four-bike hanging style rack. For inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, which is part number INH540. Now this bike rack is pretty unique as a different way of porting your bikes when compared to your typical hanging style racks that have the two arms except they're parallel like this. This one has the two vertical arms like this that are perpendicular to the ground and it holds your bike at the intersection of the cross tube and the down tube of your bike, right there. Kind of wedges itself down and then down here, we're gonna have another cradle that's supporting about the midsection of the down tube. And you've got two straps holding it in. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Mazda CX-9- Video
Today on our 2018 Mazda CX9 we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider two bike platform rack, which is part number HR200Z.The hitch mounted bike rack is a great accessory to use to haul up to two bikes to your destination. It's gonna secure your bikes at three different points. We have a hook and loop strap on the back wheel right here securing the back wheel into the cradle. We're gonna have the same type of strap in the front, over here. Both of those straps just pull down on your tire on your wheel keeping it down on the cradle.Then, up top, we're gonna have this padded frame hook, which is putting downward force on top of this cross-tube right here forcing it down into the trays. Now, that padding's gonna help protect your bike finish from having scratches or abrasions. more

Now let's take a closer look at the bike rack, and show off some of the features with the bike installed.On the ends, we do have these two bottle openers that Yakima puts on all of their products. Up here we have two different, or actually three different points, where our bike is secured. We have two on top, with the Zip Strips that secures the top frame of our bike onto these cradles. These cradles do have rubber TPE padding. What that means, is that these little grooves in there are going to act as shock absorbers for the frame of your bike while you're traveling.The third point of contact we have is down here, in our anti-rattle cradle. more

Part number SA4025F.Now, let's take a closer look at some of the features with the bike installed. For starters, this platform rack can tilt away from the vehicle to give you access to your trunk. We're just going to pull on this handle right here and it can tilt away like so. Now we can come up and open up our rear hatch and it doesn't even come close to making contact with our bike. We can slide in and get whatever gear we might need out of our trunk and then we're ready to hit the trails.When you have it closed and you're ready to tilt it back up, just grab ahold of these arms right here and push up till you hear that audible latch.Now, our bike has four different points where it's secured to the bike rack. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Mazda 3, we're gonna be taking a look at the Inno Aero Light four bike rack for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches. That's gonna be part number IM8640. As you can see, we do have a bike installed, so let's just take a closer look and show off some of the features.Now starting right here, we're gonna see we have an integrated cable lock system that comes from the base of the bike rack, wraps around the frame of your bikes, and enters into that notch right there. You'll get a set of keys with your bike rack, so when you wanna unlock the cable, you simply just slide this tab up, you have the insert for your key right there, you're gonna unlock your cable, and then unload your bikes.The cradles can pivot left and right, and up and down the bike rack, and that's gonna help provide you with a lot of options for different sized bikes to install on it and different spacing between your bikes you would like. The cradles also have this nice, thick rubber padding right here. That's gonna be nice to help protect your bike frame from any type of scratches or abrasions during travel.Our back is secured at three different points of contact. more

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2015 Mazda CX-9, we're going to be taking a look at our ROLA Convoy, two-bike platform rack. That's part number 59308-2. This is a two-bike rack, but one of the main features it its modular design, which basically just means that this second platform can be removed if you only want to have one bike. Say you're going on a solo trip and you only need the one, you can remove this second rack and be lighter weight.It also features the tilt-a-way design, so we're going to remove our pin there, tilt it up, and pull back. That's going to give us plenty of room to access our rear hatch to get to our equipment or other supplies. We can raise our rack, just reversing the process. more

Today on our 2016 Mazda CX9 we're doing a test fit of the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider 2 Platform Style 2-Bike Rack. That part number is HR1000. Now we already have our bike secured down. I'm first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. I'm going to come to the middle portion here, and we're going to remove both of our pins and clips at the bottom. With those removed we can actually tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle, and in this position we are going to gain full access into our back hatch area to get anything in our out that we may need. What's great about this is that we don't have to worry about removing our bike rack or our bikes just to gain that access. more

Today on our 2007 Mazda 5, we're going to be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider 2-bike rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number HR200. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike is actually attached to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact. We're going to have this padded frame hook up at the top and it's padded to make sure your bike doesn't get scratched up once it's being installed. We also have two hook and loop straps on both wheels and the wheel cradles themselves are adjustable by loosening and tightening these knobs. They do that so they can accommodate different size bikes, but also to assist with loading. It has a nice raised shank to it, so even if your hitch sits low to the ground you're not going to have any clearance issues between your bike rack and the ground. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. more

We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The cradles themselves are adjustable along the arms, this is to accommodate loading. It also has these grooves inside the cradles, so one you install your bike the break cables and such can actually sit in these areas here so it doesn't get smashed up against the frame. It grips your bike at three points, we're going to have two straps up at the top and one off to the side. That's going to serve as an anti-sway cradle to keep your bike from moving too far back and forth, and possibly making contact with the others. Today on our 2016 Mazda CX5 we're going to be test fitting the Softride Element Parallelogram tilting 4-bike rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number SR26248. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The first feature I'd like to show off is the fact that this can tilt away from the vehicle with all bikes attached, which is pretty unique for a hanging-style bike rack. What you do is you come onto the passenger side here where there's this black handle. You pull out and let it tilt away like so. Now we have full access to our rear hatch and plenty of space on either side to get what we need. more

Today on our 2016 Mazda CX-5, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches, part number Y02443. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The first feature I like to show off is the fact that this can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached to it so you can gain rear hatch access. To do that, we'll hold onto the bike rack and pull this red knob here at the front out. Holding onto the bike rack, we'll let it come down. Now we have rear hatch access to get what we need. more

We also have these adjustable wheel creels at the base here, you just loosen them up, and you can move them along the arms to accommodate different sized bikes, and to assist with loading. It also has this nice raised shank here, so the vehicles with hitches that sit low, it's not going to have any clearance issues between the bike rack, and the ground. Today on our 2003 Mazda Tribute we'll be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Rack's RoadRunner Hanging Style 4 bike rack for inch and a quarter hitches. That's part number HR410. I've already got it loaded up on the Tribute just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to hold our 4 bikes. Right into it, one of the greatest features this bike rack has that makes it different from other bike racks is that it uses and anti-sway bar with included straps to help prevent sway and prevent our wheels from spinning while we're on the road. That's for each of the bikes so we've got straps included there. Now it also secures our bikes in 3 spots. We've got 2 straps for our top 2 and then 1 strap for our seat post too. more

Today on this 2016 Mazda CX5 we're going to be test fitting the Thule Roadway 2-bike rack, part number TH912XTR. We already have a bike installed on the rack. It's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How this attaches to the bike rack, we're going to have three points of contact with the bike's frame. We're going to have two rubber straps up at the top here and one off to the side. That's going to serve as an anti-sway straps to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack or the bikes itself and damage it. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Mazda CX-9- Video
Today on our 2012 Mazda CX-9 we'll be doing a test for the Kuat Transfer 3 Bike Rack. That's part number TS03G. It's also available as a two-bike rack, part number TS02G. I've already got it loaded up on the back of the CX-9, just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it secures our bike. It actually secures our bike in two spots. We have this large wheel hook going over our front wheel putting down pressure into the front wheel cradle here, and then we have a rear wheel strap going over our rear wheel. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Mazda CX-9- Video
Today on our 2012 Mazda CX-9 we will be doing a test fit on the Thule Vertex 4 bike rack. That is part number TH9029XT. We already got it loaded up on the CX-9 to give you an idea of what it looks like and how it is going to secure our 4 bikes. It actually secures our bikes with 3 straps. We have the 2 straps for the top tube here, and then for our seat post too, we have an anti-sway strap. That is going to help prevent a lot of the sway and the bike roll around the road as well as prevent bike-to-bike contact and bike-to-vehicle contact. Let's go ahead and take it off. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Mazda CX-9- Video
Today on our 2012 Mazda CX9 we'll be doing a test fit of the Swagman XC 2-bike rack. That's part number S64650. I've already got it loaded up on the CX9 just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to secure our 2 bikes. It actually secures our bikes by 1 large hook right over the top tube here. It puts down pressure into our front and rear cradle, all the while making a nice secure fit. Let's go ahead and take our bike off. We'll first just raise up this front hook here by pressing in the little tab button there, and then we can remove our bike. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 mazda cx-9- Video
Today on our 2015 Mazda CX9, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Swagman Trailhead. This is going to be our hanging style four bike rack, part number S63380. As you can see, we've already got our bike up here and mounted to the back of our rack on the back of our vehicle, so you can get a better understanding of how it's going to correspond with yours. The first thing we're going to do is get a couple measurements. Our closest distance will be that first one from the T handle and thumb screw here on the back to the back side of the bumper. That distance looks like it's going to be about 5 inches, about 4 7/8 inches. more

Today on our 2015 Mazda CX-9 we're going to be doing a test fit of the Yakima Full Tilt. Now this is going to be your hanging style 4-bike rack, part number Y02462. As you can see, we're already got our bike up on our cradle arms so you can get a better idea of what it's going to look like on the back of your Mazda. Now, first things first, we're going to go ahead and get a few measurements, starting off with our closest distance. That's going to be from the front side of the rack here to the back side of the bumper at our closest contact point if it we're to come in too far. It's going to be about 4 inches. The overall distance that we've added to the back of the vehicle, from the rear of the bumper to the back of the cradle arms, is going to be about 37-1/2 inches, and our ground clearance from the bottom side of the fin is going to be about 9-1/2 inches. more

Today on our 2015 Mazda CX-9, we're going to be doing a test fit of the CURT Premium 4. This is going to be our hanging style 4-bike rack, part number C18064. As you can see, we've already got our bike up on our rack and strapped down to our cradle arm so you can get a better idea of what it's going to look like on the back of your Mazda. We'll start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest distance will be the first measurement, from the front side of the rack to the back side of the bumper. It looks like it's going to be about 3 inches from the backside to these tabs and the T handle here on the front. Overall distance that we've added to the vehicle is going to be from the back bumper to the rear of the cradle arms, at about 33 inches. Our ground clearance from the bottom side of the shank, about 11 inches. Now that we've gotten those measurements out of the way, let's go ahead and talk about how our bike is secured to the rack. more
